CraigsLUST Games: Speed Dating

When I set out to create CraigsLUST, I wanted to do some story-based long-form improv. However, I also realized that so much of the fun of Missed Connections and online dating in general was some of the ridiculous situations that arise, and the people one meets. Finally, there was the elephant in the room that people were terrified that they would meet serial killers by replying to Craigslist ads. I wanted to address as many of these as I could in individual games. During the Fringe Preview, we played "Me & You" (see a video), and we have invented the "Stalker Endowment" game. We are also planning on playing Missed Connections "Bad Libs" and a sexy workplace game we call the "Sexy Machine". One of my absolute favorite games is called "Speed Dating". For this game, we took an existing exercise where you try to make one person laugh by going over-the-top. In our case it usually ends up being incredibly sexy or incredibly creepy. See for yourself:

CraigsLUST: A Sexploration

Meeting people is hard. Meeting sane people is harder. Meeting sane people on Craigslist is nearly impossible! Join us for an improvised adventure into dating, modern romance, and missed connections. Come see us, and who knows, maybe you'll be someone's missed connection… Your suggestions fuel the scenes. From the people who brought you 2013’s improvised version of The 39 Steps. In this show, we'll play some improv games and have some fun. Part of our show will also be a short original play inspired by your suggestions and the insane things people do on Craigslist.
